A woman was arrested last week after she was accused of leaving a toddler who nearly drowned unattended in a bathtub inside a Phillipsburg home, authorities said. Officers provided basic life support for the child and rushed him to St. Luke’s Hospital, Warren Campus, investigators said. The toddler was treated for submersion injuries due to being left unattended in a bathtub. The child was later transported to St. Luke’s Bethlehem Campus and admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for advanced treatment, the office said. The office and the department later determined that Schubert was legally responsible for the care and supervision of the toddler, officials said.
