The current contractor, Cleanaway was tasked with determining the cost of reintroducing the service to residents, but at $830,000 it was deemed to be out of reach, with "insufficient funds in the Waste Reserve to absorb one bulky household goods collection per year, continue to operate the broader waste service and pay for known future capital work, renewals and rehabilitation."
