A coalition of major financial institutions and Bitcoin-focused firms has formed the Bitcoin Security Consortium, committing substantial resources to bolster the cryptocurrency network’s long-term defenses. Strategy (NASDAQ:MSTR), the company formerly known as MicroStrategy and led by Michael Saylor as executive chairman, is among the nine founding members. Together they have pledged a combined $15 million over the next three years to support open-source developers and researchers working on Bitcoin’s security infrastructure. As long-term holders of Bitcoin, the participating organizations have a strong interest in ensuring the network remains secure across generations. The formation of this alliance reflects growing institutional involvement in Bitcoin and a recognition that its security constitutes a shared responsibility.
