FARGO, N.D. — A joint investigation is underway after a crash involving a train and a pedestrian early Saturday morning in Fargo resulted in a death. According to Lieutenant Travis Berger, at approximately 12:42 a.m., officers with the Fargo Police Department were dispatched to the 1600 block of 1st Avenue North for a report of a train versus pedestrian crash. The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Sergeant Brandon Kerr told Flag Family News, via a statement, that the pedestrian has died. Fargo and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Police are conducting the investigation, which remains active and ongoing.
