Investing.com -- Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said he would raise Washington's new 12.5% tariff on Australian goods directly with U.S. President Donald Trump, Reuters reported.
The Trump administration imposed new tariffs on imports from 60 trading partners on Friday, coinciding with the expiry of a temporary 10% global tariff.
Australia was among 38 economies assigned a 12.5% tariff.
Albanese's Labor government has described the tariff on Australian goods as unjustified and is seeking its removal.
