A fourth firefighter has died due to the now extinguished Knowles wildfire near the Colorado-Utah border. On July 24 Nathan Matthews, 43, of the Wildland Fire Service of Lincoln, Nebraska died from injuries he sustained while responding to the Knowles Fire on June 27. Three other firefighters – Emily Barker, 38 of Clinton Township, Michigan, Nick Hutcherson, 27, of Glendale, Arizona and Sydney Watson, 27, of Warrior, Alabama – died at the scene.
