SRINAGAR: The CJP on Saturday withdrew its nationwide agitation after the Centre accepted several of its key demands, including a commitment not to take action against protesters and to withdraw any FIRs already registered in connection with the protests. Addressing a joint press conference with the CJP delegation, Nadda said the government had agreed that no action would be taken against protesters and no fresh FIRs would be registered. He added that any FIRs already filed would be withdrawn and copies of the FIRs would also be provided. Regarding the CJP’s five-point charter on examination reforms, the Union Minister said the government would examine the proposals in detail and take appropriate decisions after further deliberations with the organisation. CJP national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka appealed to protesters across the country to immediately end their demonstrations and return home peacefully.
