The Joint Forces of Sudan, an alliance of the Army and armed groups, claimed to have recaptured three towns and a strategic city in North Kordofan, in the center of the country, on Saturday. Following their entry, extrajudicial executions, looting, kidnappings, and the displacement of thousands of people towards Al Obeid and other nearby areas were reported. North Kordofan has become a strategic front because it connects Khartoum and the center of the country with Darfur, and its capital, Al Obeid, is a key logistical and military hub.
