Hanson Logistics, a third-party logistics and supply-chain company based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England, has officially entered the self-storage industry with the grand opening of its first purpose-built facility this week, Hanson Self Storage, which is also in Huddersfield. It also has 64 rooftop solar panels that provide power to the property’s electric-vehicle charging stations. Hanson plans to add more panels, with the goal of using 100 percent renewable energy to power the site, the release stated. Hanson Logistics plans to open more self-storage properties over the next five years. Founded in 1846, Hanson Logistics is a sixth-generation, family-owned business that offers secure warehousing, transport and logistics, and import and export services worldwide.
