We are not talking about Orthodoxy as such, but about the Russian Orthodox Church as an organization that has given a public blessing to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Patriarch Kirill and his subordinate priests call war holy, consecrate weapons and give spiritual justification to genocidal aggression. Such activities violate public order, morality and common sense, having a very bad effect on the members of the mentioned congregations and their daily lives in the Republic of Estonia. In addition, the Russian Orthodox Church owns the SPAS TV channel, which is sanctioned in the European Union for spreading propaganda and disinformation. When an organization acts in this way, it cannot be considered an innocent scapegoat in whose case religious freedom must be emphasized at all costs.
