According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, both Bahrain and Kuwait have secretly retaliated against Iran by destroying important targets via airstrikes they flew over Iran. The airstrikes early this month targeted drone- and missile-storage depots, among other military sites, some of the people said. Iran for weeks has focused its retaliatory strikes on Bahrain and Kuwait, both of which host American military bases. After publication of this article, Kuwait’s ambassador to the U.S. denied that her country struck Iran. “The State of Kuwait has not participated in any military operations against Iran, nor has it permitted its territory to be used to launch offensive operations against any neighboring state,” Ambassador Al-Zain Al-Sabah said.
