A limited number of affordable live/work units remain available at the new Grand Lake Space to Create, and local officials are encouraging artists and makers to apply before the remaining residences are filled. The Grand Lake Creative District and the Town of Grand Lake recently opened the mixed-use development, which provides affordable housing and workspace for artists while fostering community engagement through arts programming. Kudron said the project is designed to offer affordable housing and dedicated workspace to ensure that artists have the community support and resources. The development includes the Grand Spirit Makerspace, a shared creative facility managed by the Rocky Mountain Folk School that opened in May. The application period has been extended, but officials said interested artists should apply soon because only a limited number of units remain.
