Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a suspected member of the Eiye Confraternity, identified as Oghenebuba Mamatime, over the alleged shooting of a former cult member in the state. Edafe said the suspect, an alleged member of the Eiye Confraternity, reportedly shot the victim on July 2, 2026, along Ujomi Road in Jesse, Delta State. He said preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, who is alleged to be a member of the Eiye Confraternity, was unhappy with the victim over his decision to renounce cultism. According to him, in a bid to force the victim back into the confraternity, an argument ensued, leading to the shooting. He added that three locally made pistols and one locally made single-barrel gun were recovered from the suspect upon his arrest.
