Dimapur, July 25 (MExN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland on Saturday criticised the Congress and other opposition parties for repeatedly disrupting Parliament, alleging that such actions have prevented meaningful discussions on issues of national importance, including matters concerning students.
In a statement, the party said Parliament is the country's highest democratic forum for debate and accountability, but alleged that the opposition has repeatedly resorted to disruptions instead of participating in constructive discussions, thereby obstructing legislative business.
The BJP Nagaland also condemned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's protest outside the Prime Minister's residence, describing it as a politically motivated move that sought to exploit concerns surrounding the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) examination rather than contribute to constructive solutions through democratic institutions.
It also cited the successful conduct of the re-NEET examination as evidence of the Centre's commitment to restoring public confidence in the examination process and upholding merit.
Reiterating its commitment to transparency, accountability and student welfare, the BJP Nagaland urged all political parties and stakeholders to address public concerns through democratic, peaceful and constructive means while placing the interests of students and the nation above partisan politics.
