Fire and Emergency said the two-storey house was engulfed in flames when crews arrived, triggering a call for back-up. In total, eight firetrucks and three specialist vehicles were at the fire. There were no reports of injuries. RNZ reporter Penny Smith said the blaze was on the corner of Tanera Cres and Laura Ave.She said the road was blocked and there was a significant amount of smoke.
