Kristine Vardanyan, an MP from the Hayastan parliamentary faction, addressed on Facebook what she described as explicit preconditions advanced by Azerbaijan and Turkey, which the government refuses to acknowledge. She wrote: “No, no, there are no preconditions, just that—Azerbaijan demanded constitutional changes — we launched the process. Turkey demanded silence on the Armenian Genocide — we no longer pursue international recognition, and even condemn leaders who recognize it, saying it gives us nothing. Turkey demanded dropping all references to Mount Ararat — we’ve launched a campaign against it, removing it wherever possible. Those who support this policy and think we’re exaggerating can say: at what point will these demands end?
