The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) has announced a 36-member team for the World Athletics U20 Championships 2026, which will be held in Eugene, USA, next month. The men’s team will compete in track and field disciplines, including the 400m, 800m, 5000m, high jump, long jump, triple jump, discus throw, javelin throw, and relay events. The women’s team will compete in events such as the 400m, high jump, shot put, discus throw, javelin throw, 4x100m relay, and mixed 4x400m relay. The World Athletics U20 Championship is considered one of the most important tournaments in global junior athletics, where young athletes gain much-needed international experience and face some of the world’s best upcoming talent. India have consistently produced U20 talent in recent years, and the 2026 team will aim to continue that streak in Eugene.
