Thunder Sign Nuggets RFA Spencer Jones To Offer Sheet

Hoops Rumors
Restricted free agent forward Spencer Jones has agreed to a two-year, $12MM offer sheet with the Thunder, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype (Twitter link).
As cap expert Yossi Gozlan tweets, the Thunder will be hard-capped at the second tax apron if the Nuggets decide not to match Jones’ offer sheet.
He became a restricted free agent when Denver extended a $2.65MM qualifying offer.
The Nuggets also have another prominent restricted free agent, Peyton Watson, who remains unsigned, further complicating their decision on whether to retain Jones.
According to ESPN’s Bobby Marks (Twitter link), if the Nuggets match the offer sheet, their current tax bill would go from $36.4MM to $68.6MM.
