Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain today made surprise visits to three hospitals in Bagerhat, warning of tough action upon his return to Dhaka after discovering severe irregularities. The minister arrived at the Morrelganj Upazila Health Complex at around 11:00am. Morrelganj Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Kamal Hossain Mufti failed to provide any satisfactory explanation. During his visit, the minister called Bagerhat Civil Surgeon Dr Mahbubul Alam over the phone, who claimed he was on leave. The minister later visited Sarankhola Upazila Health Complex, where he spoke to patients and reprimanded a senior nurse for misbehaving with them.
