New satellite imagery has been released that appears to show what analysts believe is a new kind of Chinese submarine. Captured by BlackSky back in May of this year, the new attack submarine appears to be under construction at the Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai. New Chinese submarine spotted If true, this would make the submarine considerably harder to detect and track using things like passive sonar. According to reports, the submarine appears to be around 393 feet (120 meters) long and 33 feet (10 meters) wide. “The submarine appears to be a new class,” Timothy Heath, owner of research firm Perceptum, told the South China Morning Post (SCMP).
