Forecasters have called for a much tamer hurricane season for 2026, mainly due to the weather phenomenon known as El Niño off the west coast of Mexico. And while we will have fewer hurricanes this season, which, by the way, officially ends on September 30, a Super El Niño could impact the weather in Louisiana this winter.
