4:42 pm: Caldwell-Pope has agreed to a buyout with Memphis and plans to sign a one-year, minimum-salary deal with the Sixers after he clears waivers, sources tell ESPN’s Shams Charania (Twitter link). 12:15 am: Veteran wing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is negotiating a buyout with the Grizzlies and plans to join his former teammate LeBron James with the Sixers once he becomes a free agent, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes (Twitter link). While Haynes didn’t specify what type of contract Caldwell-Pope will sign with Philadelphia, the team can only offer the veteran’s minimum. It wouldn’t be surprising if he gives up around $3.88MM in his buyout with the Grizzlies. The Grizzlies have traded Jaren Jackson Jr. and Ja Morant since acquiring Caldwell-Pope a year ago and are pivoting toward a youth movement.
