The Togolese Government, in partnership with UNICEF and other stakeholders, has launched the process of revising the Education Sector Plan (ESP), a strategic framework that guides policies and investments in the country’s education sector. Minister of National Education Mama Omorou described the revision as a critical step towards strengthening the performance of the education system and responding to the needs of students, teachers and communities. “The new Education Sector Plan must reflect our collective ambition to make Togolese schools a true lever for human and social development,” he said. The review will assess progress made, identify remaining challenges, examine regional disparities and incorporate emerging realities within the education sector. The new Education Sector Plan will also include projections from a financial simulation model to support effective resource planning and sustainable implementation of reforms.
