Kishtwar, Jul 24: The annual Shri Machail Mata Yatra 2026, originally scheduled to commence on July 25, has been deferred till July 27 due to inclement weather, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma said on Friday. He said the weather situation will be reviewed before resuming the pilgrimage and reiterated that online registration and RFID cards are mandatory for all pilgrims undertaking the yatra. Thereafter, keeping in view the prevailing weather, the pilgrimage for devotees will start from July 28, subject to an assessment of favourable weather conditions. Registration has been made 100 per cent online and mandatory and an RFID system has been introduced. Online registration can be completed through the official portal http://www.srimachalmatayatra.com, which carries step-by-step guidelines.
