Now, new research suggests that taking up a daily walking habit could make a big impact on your risk of developing chronic low back pain.
Here’s what the study found, plus how this all works, according to doctors who treat low back pain.
For the study, researchers analyzed data from 11,194 people who participated in the Trøndelag Health Study, which is an ongoing population-based health study in Norway.
The researchers discovered a link between how often the participants walked and their risk of developing chronic low back pain.
A scientific analysis of 249 trials of exercise treatment for low back pain also determined that doing exercise is an effective treatment for chronic low back pain compared to standard care or no treatment.
