Hemmingson Center on the Gonzaga University campus in SpokaneFormer U.S. Vice President Mike Pence will receive an award from WSU’s Foley institute in September. The former Republican vice president will receive the Thomas S. Foley Award for Distinguished Public Service at a ceremony in Spokane. The award is given out every year by WSU’s Foley Institute of Public Policy and Public Service. Pence served as Vice President under President Donald Trump’s first term and ran with him in the 2020 election which he lost. Before his time as vice president, Pence served as Governor of Indiana and served in Congress.
