WSU uses helicopters to install new lighting at Gesa Field amidst new stadium renovations

The aircraft lifted lights from the stadium roof and surrounding poles during the two-day procedure.
The new lighting is only one part of the first phase of stadium improvements the university announced in January.
The stadium upgrades were approved by the Board of Regents Nov. 14, 2025, to enhance the fan and student-athlete experience at Gesa Field.
Athletics also received funding for a $3 million renovation of the football locker room in December.
