Since 2005, the Pineland Farms Dairy Company has been handcrafting artisan cheese, using milk from local farms with no artificial growth hormones or antibiotics, in small batches. They've been producing this cheese in a large facility on Milk Street in Bangor. The cheese has been available for sale in grocery stores across the state, and even won the distinction of being chosen as Down East Magazine's Best of Maine cheese maker for 2025. The Bangor facility will continue under Tropical Cheese ownership, with the existing team remaining in place and Mark Whitney continuing to lead the facility as General Manager, Bangor Operations."
