Investing.com -- Europe could contribute heavily to another coordinated strategic oil stock release by September if flows through the Strait of Hormuz or regional energy infrastructure remain materially disrupted, Citi analysts said.
That total included 1.2 billion barrels of government-controlled stocks and another 600 million barrels held by companies under government obligations.
The programme called for the release of 280 million barrels from public reserves and 119 million barrels from industry-held inventories.
Releases averaged about 1.1 million barrels per day and peaked above 2.7 million barrels per day in April.
