Article contentYou Are Not Forgotten features quilts created by the Six Nations Piecemakers Quilt Club. The exhibit also includes a large quilt by the Grand River Quilt Project, which features 76 panels and tells the stories of those who live along the river and their personal connections to it. Combined, the quilts explore themes of remembrance, connection, storytelling and place through textile art. “The Grand River Quilt Project came out of a much larger project ‘Voices of the Grand,’ which began in 2022,” Patricia Flood said at the opening night of the exhibit on July 23. Artist Sharon Gashgarian attended one of the circle meetings when the topic of discussion was how to amplify the voices of the Grand River through art.
