The city is entertaining an offer to purchase the former city hall building on Wellington Street...A city councillor wants to augment Brantford’s memorial parks with storyboards and other commemorative installations that tell the story of those who served in conflicts around the world. Mandy Samwell said Brantford has a number of war memorials in War Memorial Park, Jubilee Terrace Park and Tom Thumb Park. “We have an opportunity to create something really special here,” Samwell said. “As this moves forward there will be consultation the army, navy, air cadets, veterans, all of the stakeholders involved to create something really special for our community.” Samwell asked city staff to bring a report to councillors by the end of September 2026.
