SRINAGAR: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Kashmir, of the Crime Branch, Jammu and Kashmir, has filed a chargesheet against a man accused of duping a job seeker with a false promise of employment in Cambodia, where the victim was allegedly forced into online scamming instead of the promised job. The investigation found that after reaching Cambodia, the complainant was allegedly compelled to participate in online scamming activities instead of being provided the promised employment. Crime Branch officials said the investigation substantiated the allegations, following which the chargesheet was presented before the competent court for judicial proceedings. The Economic Offences Wing has advised the public to remain vigilant against fraudulent overseas employment offers and other economic offences. It has urged people to report such incidents to the Senior Superintendent of Police, EOW Kashmir, Crime Branch JK.
