DEVILS LAKE, N.D. – The Devils Lake Police Department is warning its community’s Walmart Spark drivers about a scam targeting them. “Scammers are placing small orders, for example a can of corn and a can of beans,” the police department said on Facebook. “After the driver accepts the order, they receive a phone call from someone claiming to be ‘Spark Support.’” The caller tells the driver the customer made the mistake and said items can be returned to the store. They then tell the driver they’re eligible for reimbursement or compensation through One Pay – and then gives a set of instructions to initiate an instant transfer, stealing the driver’s funds.
