JOHANNESBURG - Workers at Gold Fields' South Deep Mine are set for above-inflation wage increases after the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) signed a new five-year wage agreement. The deal, concluded with UASA, runs until February 2031. Entry-level underground workers will earn a minimum of R18,663 a month in the first year, rising to more than R24,500 a month by the fifth year.
