THE F. Sionil Jose Young Writers Award has adopted an artificial intelligence (AI) verification policy for this year’s edition of the literary competition. To safeguard “human creativity,” the policy requires entrants to submit drafts, revision histories, research notes or other supporting materials to establish that they authored their entries. The annual competition, supported by the family of the late National Artist for Literature F. Sionil Jose, is accepting short stories in English and Filipino from Filipinos aged 30 and below until Aug. 15. Winners in each language category will receive P25,000 for first prize, P15,000 for second prize and P10,000 for third prize. The complete guidelines are available on the official Facebook page of the F. Sionil Jose Young Writers Award.
