Alexander T. Moles, 39, of Ringwood was driving the toddler to a hospital because he was having trouble breathing, according to Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland.
First responders administered two doses of Nalaxone, aka Narcan, and brought him to Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional.
A blood test on the child came back positive for cocaine.
On the way to the hospital, the Noles called the woman and asked if it was okay if the child fell asleep.
At the hospital Noles requested a lawyer after being read his Miranda.
