We lost John Prine in 2020, and his longtime label Oh Boy Records has curated a new archival release celebrating the 30th anniversary of his twelfth album, Lost Dogs & Mixed Blessings. It features demos, alternate and acoustic versions, and five previously unreleased tracks. You can hear one of those unreleased tracks, “World Without Love,” now. It’s an outtake from the sessions that produced Lost Dogs & Mixed Blessings, and it’s accompanied by a video with previously unseen Super 8 film footage of Prine on vacation in the early ’70s. Also coming up in October is a show paying tribute to Prine, “Souvenirs: 80 Years of John Prine,” presented by his family, Oh Boy Records, and the Hello In There Foundation and happening on October 8 at Chicago Theatre.
