The Rockets have officially signed free agent forward Julian Phillips, according to a team press release. Minnesota declined its $2.4MM team option on Phillips in June and also opted against tendering him a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent. The Rockets have made a flurry of roster additions this week, re-signing Isaiah Crawford and Jae’Sean Tate while also adding Phillips and Oscar Tshiebwe. It’s also worth noting that if Phillips’ deal includes Exhibit 10 language, it could be converted into a two-way contract before opening night. Phillips remains two-way eligible since he only has three years of NBA experience.
