Ben Lowry is standing down as editor of The News Letter PICTURE: BEN LOWRY/XThe editor of The News Letter, Ben Lowry, is to step down from his role with the newspaper, it is understood. Mr Lowry, who has been editor of the title since 2021 when he replaced Alistair Bushe, worked his last day in the post on Wednesday. A regular contributor to BBC NI current affairs shows, Mr Lowry was named deputy editor of The News Letter in 2013. It was first published as The Belfast News Letter in 1737, and Mr Lowry, with a keen interest in history, ran the title’s ‘On This Day’ columns. In a statement to the Irish News, Mr Lowry said: “After two happy decades, I no longer work at The News Letter.
