Wildfire smoke has blanketed Kamloops, prompting some weekend event organizers to cancel activities or monitor conditions before making final decisions.
For the second time this month, Kamloops' Air Quality Health Index reached the highest level as of Friday morning, sitting at 10+, or "very high risk."
The federal agency said wildfire smoke is causing, or is expected to cause, poor air quality and reduced visibility over the next 24 to 48 hours.
“During a wildfire, smoke conditions can change quickly over short distances and can vary considerably hour-by-hour,” the Environment Canada advisory stated.
