CENTURIES from both openers helped Alvechurch and Hopwood CC to a remarkable 231-run victory against Kidderminster 3rds. Both Jamie Rachman and Mike Gilmour reached triple figures as Alvechurch posted a mammoth 409-7 from their 45 overs at Chester Road. And Alvechurch bowled the home side out for 178 in 34.2 overs to win by a significant margin. Kidderminster won the toss and elected to field but the decision backfired as Rachman (103) and Gilmour (136) piled on the runs. Alvechurch and Hopwood are next in action against Bromsgrove 3rds on Saturday, July 25 with play to begin at 12.30pm at Alvechurch Cricket Ground.
