THE charitable arm of Alvechurch Football Club – the Alvechurch Foundation – values its social impact on the village and surrounding areas at an estimated £4.8million. The Foundation quantified its social value through a number of different metrics including volunteer hours (£1.6m), value of facilities accessible to the local area (£1.3m), player wellbeing value (460k) and hours of social interaction (£194k). Some 450 volunteers and paid staff look after the club’s 271 adult players and 535 youth players. This includes total wellbeing value (£1.6m), total health value (313k) and total social value (£25k). The Foundation’s youth players generate £415k of social value through their participation alone.
