Today Meta is launching Facebook Verified. This is a free badge that lets you know there's a real person behind an account. If you get the badge, it will initially appear in Facebook Marketplace, Dating, Groups, and on your profile. Obviously, the badge doesn't mean that Facebook "endorses the user or guarantees their trustworthiness", just that there's a real person behind the account. Facebook Verified is available to eligible users above 18, who are in good standing with the platform's Community Standards, specifically those prohibiting fraud, scams, and deceptive practices, and who exhibit no evidence of "inauthentic behavior".
