New Wilmington - Robert LeRoy VanDale was born on Thanksgiving Day 1935, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the firstborn child to LeRoy and Lavona VanDale. He grew up in West Allis, Wisconsin, and graduated from Lawrence University in Appleton in 1957. Bob went on to Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, at which time he met and married Carla Kuhnof Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. During his years at Westminster, Bob taught religion and theology classes and founded and directed the Peace and Reconciliation Center. He retired in 1998 to focus his time on The Peace Center and pursue other aspects of peace and justice work.
