Shoe Show, Inc. has appointed former Hibbett executive Cathy Pryor as chief operating officer (COO), replacing the retiring Jay Manning after 40 years of service with the company, most recently as COO. Jay Manning reportedly began his retail career in 1977 as a sales associate and, later, in management with Mercantile Stores in Montgomery, AL. In 1994, his responsibilities expanded into what became the COO role, where he has reportedly provided leadership and guidance across store operations, logistics and numerous strategic initiatives. Pryor began her retail career in 1985 with Robby’s Sports in Florida, serving as store and district manager. She progressed from district manager to director, VP of Store Operations and, ultimately, SVP of Store Operations and Executive Officer.
