Rangers catcher Danny Jansen hit the injured list with a forearm/elbow injury back in early June. Jansen himself tells Grant he’ll have to make a decision on whether to undergo an internal brace procedure in the next two to three weeks. Grant suggests that if Jansen indeed undergoes surgery in the next couple weeks, he’ll have a chance to be ready for Opening Day 2027 (…assuming it starts on time). He’s seen notable dips in his hard-hit rate, barrel rate and line-drive rate and produced the second-most grounders of his career on a rate basis. Based on the offensive trends, it’s fair to presume that Jansen’s elbow has bothered him prior to his IL placement.
