Former Stratford fair ambassador urges youth to step forward

Applications are open until Aug. 1 for the 2026 ambassador program, which gives young people a chance to represent the agricultural societyAs a former Stratford Fall Fair ambassador, Paige Fawcett is encouraging others to apply to take on the role for 2026.
Fawcett, the fair’s 2022 ambassador, described the position as a great way for youth to become more involved in the community.
Article content“If you’re interested in agricultural societies and fall fairs, it’s a really great way to get more involved with that — to get back to your community to promote those things.
It’s a youth leadership program at its heart,” said Fawcett, who was also named the 2023 runner-up in the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies District 8 competition.
Along with fostering youth involvement, the eventual ambassador will learn some much-needed skills as they get set to enter the workforce, added Fawcett, the co-convenor for the 2026 program with Faith Knechtel, the 2023 ambassador.
