Twenty new permanent digital message boards and 19 highway cameras will be installed across the province. Destined for major routes on the Trans-Canada Highway, Winnipeg’s perimeter, and Highway 6 and 75, the boards will be near Emerson, Portage, Thompson, Winnipeg and other key locations. The cameras will capture road conditions every 15 minutes, with images uploaded to the Manitoba511 website and app. Naylor said the boards and cameras are important in Manitoba where weather can shift in minutes.
