In this ongoing dialogue, I would like to discuss the role of an AI Curator: a persona who develops expertise in orchestrating agents and takes accountability for the code they generate. Curation is Accountability, not AuthorshipWhen engineers orchestrate an LLM to generate code, they are taking on the role of a curator. Elizabeth Eagle-Simbeye’s 2025 essay From Creator to Curator highlights this shift in the design space with principles that apply equally well to software. A human is a curator if they are the sender but an AI is the originator. Transparency Should Be CelebratedA disturbing trend I’ve seen in some engineering circles is to be dismissive of AI code disclosures.
