Wangchuk ended his hunger strike on Thursday night in the presence of Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Jitendra Singh. Communist Party of India MP P. Santhosh Kumar said: "Whether Sonam Wangchuk continues his hunger strike or not is not the main issue. When people insisted, he said that you can hold that kind of a hunger strike where one person sits for 24 hours, then another person sits for another 24 hours. "The country needs activists like him (Sonam Wangchuk) who selflessly stand with the students and people in general. "So, we (Opposition MPs) had handed over the letter to his (Sonam Wangchuk's) wife.
